Charlie currently heads P-Solve’s actuarial team and leads the US business.
He has served clients and their retirement plans for over 30 years and has extensive experience with all aspects of post-employment benefit plans including qualified and non-qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans, multi-employer plans and post-retirement medical benefit programs.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2009, Charlie spent 17 years with Aon Consulting, where he was the Boston Retirement Practice Leader and served two years as Chair of Aon’s National Practice Council. Charlie has spoken at numerous conferences and has published numerous articles. In 2010, Charlie was elected to a three year term on the Society of Actuaries’ Pension Section Council.
Charlie has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Philip Gorgone is a Managing Director/Senior Investment Consultant in P-Solve’s Boston office.
Phil is responsible for managing the US Investment Team, which includes design, management, implementation, and governance of client portfolios. He also chairs the U.S. Investment Committee and is a voting member of the Fiduciary Management and Insurance Investment Committees.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2006, Phil spent 7 years with John Hancock as a member of the Global Investment Strategy Team, which was responsible for the portfolio management, manager selection and oversight for Hancock’s General Account, 401K, and Pension portfolios. Prior to Hancock, Phil worked as a Portfolio Manager/Director of Research with Durkee Capital Advisors and as a Research Analyst with Magna Venture Partners.
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is a Commodity Trading Advisor, and holds a Series 3 license. Phil has a B.B.A. (Honors) in Finance from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and has an M.S. in Finance from Suffolk University (1st in his class).
Ryan McGlothlin is a Managing Director in the Boston Office.
Ryan serves as Global Head of Strategic Relationships as well as acting as the US Chief Investment Officer. He works with all types of institutional investors on customized investment and risk management strategies. Ryan joined P-Solve in 2007 to found its US business. Prior to that, he worked for Barclays in London, helping institutions to structure and execute derivatives transactions. He designed and executed some of the earliest interest rate, inflation and equity hedging programs for UK defined benefit pension plans. He began his finance career as an investment banker advising on capital raising and M&A transactions.
Ryan has 20 years of financial services experience, with most of that time focused on institutional investment and risk management. He is a regular writer and speaker on investment and financial risk management issues. He serves on multiple firm investment committees, including the Global Investment Committee. Ryan also is active in the firm’s product development efforts.
Ryan holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. (Honors) from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dan Atkinson is a Director in P-Solve’s Boston office.
Dan consults on all aspects of financial risk management for defined benefit plans as well as retiree medical plans and defined contribution plans. He has led numerous clients through pension risk transfers as well as other complex, strategic pension projects.
Dan also serves as P-Solve’s Chief Technical Actuary. He began his actuarial consulting career with Fidelity Investments. He also worked at Mercer prior to joining P-Solve in 2010.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Dan graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Actuarial Mathematics.
Hunter Beck is an Actuarial Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
He provides assistance on a variety of actuarial client projects including annual funding and accounting valuations, pension plan de-risking, preparation of benefit statements, and filing of government forms.
Hunter graduated cum laude from University of Massachusetts Amherst with a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science and Economics.
Michael Clark is a Director and Consulting Actuary in P-Solve’s Denver office.
In his role he consults on all aspects of financial risk management for defined benefit plans as well as retiree medical plans and defined contribution plans. He also has led numerous clients through pension risk transfers as well as other complex, strategic pension projects. Michael leads P-Solve’s business in the West. Prior to joining P-Solve in 2013, Michael worked for Mercer as well as October Three.
Michael is a frequent speaker at industry and professional association conferences on the topics of pension risk management and pension plan administration and has had several articles published in major trade magazines. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Conference of Consulting Actuaries as well as the Western Pension & Benefits Council – Denver Chapter.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Michael graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University with a BS in Statistics.
Kristina Csaplar is a Senior Investment Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
She advises clients on investments, performs research and analysis of investment products and coordinates the client reporting process.
Kristina graduated summa cum laude from Union College with a B.S. in Mathematics and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Marc Fandetti is a Director and Senior Investment Consultant in P-Solve’s Boston office.
Marc consults to defined contribution, defined benefit, and retiree health plans.
Prior to joining P-Solve, Marc was a Principal and Consultant at Meketa Investment Group, an Institutional Consultant at Graystone Consulting, and Managing Advisor at CitiStreet Advisors, a State Street and CitiGroup Company.
Marc graduated from Providence College with a degree in Economics and is a CFA charterholder and CFP designee.
Conor Fortin is a Senior Business Development and Marketing Associate in P-Solve’s Boston office.
He coordinates business development activities as well as manages numerous marketing initiatives for P-Solve’s U.S. business.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2017, Conor spent 3 years at a leading health IT security firm in their Professional Services and Sales divisions.
Conor graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Carolyn Heslop is an Investment Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
She supports the US investment team with daily account reconciliations, quarterly reporting, trading, and investment research.
Carolyn graduated from Colgate University in 2017 with a BA in Mathematical Economics and Spanish and is currently a CFA Level I candidate.
Judy Ingham is an Associate Director and Senior Actuarial Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
She is responsible for all aspects of the annual valuation process for both qualified and non-qualified plans, including reporting and disclosure under FASB ASC 715 and 960. Other responsibilities are plan administration, compliance, and special projects such as plan terminations and de-risking activities. She also provides support in areas of workflow supervision and project management.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2001, Judy spent 19 years with William M. Mercer’s Boston office.
Judy earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and has a graduate degree in Software Engineering from Harvard University Extension School.
Charlie Lynch is an Actuarial Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
Charlie provides support for a range of routine actuarial client work including preparation of benefit statements, annual funding and accounting valuations, and filing of government forms. He also assists with pension risk transfers and other client specific projects.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2016, Charlie graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University with a BS in Mathematics and Economics. He has passed several preliminary actuarial exams and is currently pursuing his ASA.
Mike Lynch is a Director and Senior Investment Consultant in P-Solve’s Boston office.
He works with the Boards, Trustees and Investment Committees of corporations, municipalities and other public entities, endowment & foundations and Taft Hartley organizations in setting investment strategy, risk management and asset allocation.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2001, Mike worked at Higgins Associates and Bay Colony Financial Management.
Mike is a voting member of the US Investment Committee. The Committee determines asset allocation for all US discretionary portfolios. He is also a member of the Global Equity research team and the US Defined Contribution team. A primary responsibility of each team is to identify appropriate investments and strategy for client portfolios. Mike also manages P-Solve’s line-up of target risk portfolios for DC clients.
Mike graduated with a BA, International Studies, from Stonehill College. He’s been active in local youth and service organizations.
Maureen McClain is an Associate Director in P-Solve’s Boston office.
She is a member of the actuarial team. In her role, Maureen provides overall support of clients’ day-to-day needs. Projects include actuarial valuations, employee benefit statements, benefit calculations, government filings, pension risk transfers, and plan terminations. Internally, Maureen is also responsible for the management and training of all analyst-level actuarial staff within the firm.
Maureen is an Enrolled Actuary, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a candidate for membership of the Society of Actuaries. She earned a BA in Mathematics with a concentration in Business Studies from Providence College.
Tim is a Senior Investment Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
In his role he manages the firm’s investment operations including: maintenance of the trading and portfolio management systems, development of the SQL/SSRS reporting, and administration of the firm’s CRM environment.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2013, Tim spent five years working as a Secondary Market Analyst at one of the largest privately held mortgage lenders in the country.
Tim graduated from the University at Buffalo with a B.S. in Business Administration and is currently a CFA Level III candidate.
Sean McSweeney is an Associate Director and Consultant in P-Solve’s Boston office.
In that role, he manages and consults on the actuarial work for the defined benefit plans as well as the retiree medical plans. That includes routine projects such as the annual ERISA and accounting valuations, benefit calculation certification and employee benefit statements, and government filings. It also includes more complex special projects such as plan design, early retirement windows, union negotiations, nondiscrimination testing, and plan terminations.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2007, Sean worked for Diversified Investment Advisors as well as Towers Perrin.
Sean graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Mathematics and Statistics with an Actuarial Studies Certificate.
Lauren Meyer is an Associate Director and Consulting Actuary in P-Solve’s Denver office.
She is responsible for supporting our clients’ day-to-day needs and providing overall consulting around the financial management and workforce implications of retirement plans.
Prior to joining P-Solve, Lauren spent eight years at Willis Towers Watson where she consulted for mid to large size U.S. and international corporations. She has experience with qualified and non-qualified defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, and post retirement welfare plans. She has worked extensively on data clean-up and forecasting projects and enjoys helping plan sponsors set and monitor goals surrounding their benefit plans.
Lauren received a B.B.A. degree with distinction in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Justyna is an Investment Consultant with P-Solve’s Boston office.
Justyna has 10 years of institutional financial services experience working with both pure consulting as well as full fiduciary management clients. She is responsible for the implementation, design and governance of several defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans. In addition, she is responsible for the development of the investment governance framework of the P-Solve US Investment Team. She is a member of the US Investment Committee and several research teams. Prior to joining P-Solve she worked for Citizens Bank, where she served in a client relations and sales capacity.
Justyna holds the Charted Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Society Boston. She has a B.A. in Economics and M.S. in Finance from Clark University.
Kevin Morrison is a Director and Consulting Actuary in P-Solve’s Boston office.
He supports clients in all aspects of their retirement programs, including defined benefit, defined contribution, and other post-employment benefit (OPEB) plans. In addition to delivering the recurring annual valuation results and helping clients meet financial reporting requirements under US GAAP, IFRS, and GASB accounting standards, he provides clients with consultative support and cost analysis around plan design, forecasting, de-risking strategies, and plan terminations.
Previor to joining P-Solve in 2016, Kevin was a consulting actuary with John Hancock Retirement Plan Services and was part of the acquisition of New York Life Retirement Plan Services. Kevin started his actuarial career with Mercer in 2004.
Kevin is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He received a B.A. in Math and Physics from the College of the Holy Cross.
Whitney Nguyen is a Senior Investment Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
In her role, she performs investment research and analysis, advises clients on investments, and assists with client reporting for defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Whitney also supports the US investment team with daily and monthly account reconciliations and trading.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2017, Whitney was an investment analyst at John Hancock’s Investment Modelling and Analysis Group where she was responsible for developing investment models and derivative products for JH’s asset liability management activities.
Whitney graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration and is currently a CFA Level III candidate.
Joanne O’Donnell is a Director in P-Solve’s Boston office.
Joanne is part of the actuarial team where she works with Defined Contribution Plans by providing administrative, consulting, testing and design services to a number of such plans. She also serves as Compliance Director where she works with the Chief Compliance Officer and outside consultants to ensure that P-Solve’s investment policies and procedures are fully implemented and up-to-date.
She formerly taught mathematics at Duquesne University.
She is a Qualified Plan Administrator, Qualified 401(k) Plan Administrator, and member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. In addition, Joanne has been approved by the IRS as an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent.
She is a graduate of California State University and the University of Pittsburgh (M.S. in Mathematics).
Will Sandifer is an Actuarial Analyst in P-Solve’s Denver office.
Will provides support for a broad range of client needs including funding and accounting valuations and projections, preparation of participant benefit statements, filing of government forms, as well as analytical and administrative support on pension risk transfer projects.
Will came to P-Solve in 2015 after working for two years as an Actuarial Analyst for Aon Hewitt in New Jersey.
Will graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and with a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Denver. He is currently pursuing his ASA designation.
Ryan Shanahan is an Investment Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
In his role, Ryan assists with client reporting for defined benefit and defined contribution plans, as well as investment research for client portfolios and ad hoc portfolio analysis. Ryan also assists the Investment Team with operations support through daily and monthly account reconciliations and reporting database development and maintenance.
Ryan graduated from Bentley University in 2015 with a BS in Economics-Finance and is currently a CFA Level II Candidate.
James Walton is an Investment Director in P-Solve’s Boston office.
James works with clients on financial risk management, develops investment strategies and derivative solutions. He also leads the due diligence of annuity providers and is a member of the US Investment Committee
James joined P-Solve in May 2016 from Legal and General, a UK based insurance group. He performed a number of investment management roles relating to the retirement business. This included ALM, credit strategy, illiquid assets and responsibility for the investment strategy of the US Pension Risk Transfer business.
James started his career at Aon as an ALM consultant to defined benefit pension plans where he also developed Aon’s LDI, strategic asset allocation processes and analytics. James is a qualified actuary and holds a Masters degree in Physics (Summa Cum Laude) from The University of Oxford.
Adam White is a Senior Actuarial Analyst in P-Solve’s Boston office.
Adam serves as the main contact with annuity providers for all pension de-risking activities and coordinates timing and delivery of all materials between the client, annuity providers, and P-Solve. Adam also provides actuarial support for a broad range of client needs including actuarial valuations, benefit calculations, data cleanup projects, government filings, and various other ad-hoc assignments.
Prior to joining P-Solve in 2015, Adam worked for Delaware Life Holdings for two years as an Actuarial Analyst focusing on fixed and variable annuity experience studies.
Adam is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and graduated from Boston College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Mathematics and Economics.
With over twenty years working in financial services, Dan works to integrate cutting-edge approaches to risk management. After leading Cassidy Retirement Group for over fifteen years, Dan merged with P-Solve. Dan worked as a consulting actuary at Towers Perrin and Mercer before launching Cassidy Retirement Group. Dan also helped launch Hudson Pilot – a firm focused on innovation in the pension solutions area. Dan authored A Manager’s Guide to Strategic Retirement Plan Management published by Wiley in 2006. He was also a contributing author of Pension Actuary’s Guide to Financial Economics published by the Society of Actuaries. Dan is also the Past General Chair of the Society of Actuaries Education System – working to educate the actuaries of the future. In 2010, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Society of Actuaries – the largest actuarial organization in the world. Dan has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Tufts University.
